The AquaDomi™ vision
AquaDomi™ is the houseboat of the future, which is flexible based on modules and therefore gives you the possibility of creating your new home exactly the way you want it. AquaDomi’s goal is to deliver a unique and individual design that lives up to the requirements of both the present and the future.

Concept
We have tried with AquaDomi™ to integrate a number of contrasts in one concept in order to unite the best of both worlds. It is a floating residence that combines the comfort and the spaciousness of the house with the boat’s location and mobility.

AquaDomi™ is a product that combines unique architecture that is tailored for the owner’s individual needs, with the economic and quality advantages that a rational production offers.

From garden house to harbour residence
The harbour areas in Denmark and in Europe are right now in a transformation process. The harbours are changing from passive industrial landscapes into new virginal urban areas. The harbour area is the new city centre with its unique combination of central location, view and access to the water. The floating house combines the house’s private garden and terrace with the immediate environment and cultural life of the town house.

Customized architecture
The liberty of living waterborne is not only due to the attractive surroundings but also to the fact that the house is not tied to the ground. We have tried with AquaDomi to take advantage of this liberty and created a residence with a maximum of flexibility.

The house floats on the water, which implies that AquaDomi must create its own gardens and terraces. The terraces and atriums can be added to the house where they are desired or just be placed on top of the floating house’s roof surfaces.

And the freedom does not stop once you have moved in. If you would need at a later period to expand or reconfigure your house, it is easy to add a module or to move the existing modules. The fact that the house floats on the water, makes it easy to move the modules of the house.

An example is to add an extra unit, when you have children. When the child becomes a teenager, it is easy to move the module and transform it into an annex. The annex can later be removed or form the basis of a new house, when the child leaves home. Another example is to add a module for a home office or a spare bedroom.

AquaDomi™ allows the owner to design the frames around his life – throughout all stages of life.

Arrangement
AquaDomi™ consists of a number of rooms with different functions and qualities: living room, bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms. The owner can freely join the rooms according to his individual wishes and needs. Each room has almost character of a little individual house that in combination form one house. You have a wide range of building materials to choose from.

Building materials
The deck is made out of maritime wood but other materials are available. The kitchen and bathrooms are of the make HTH that offers a wide range of combinations. If marble is requested, AquaDomi offers a uniquely manufactured Italian marble in a special light quality. AquaDomi marble tiles can be mounted on both walls and floors.

The exterior materials can be AquaDomi™ profiles, AquaDomi plane façades or AquaDomi stone façades. All are available in a variety of colours.

The bathing jetty and the roof terraces are covered by AquaDomi™ channelled terrace profile, which is available in dark mahogany look or natural colour. The maritime guardrails are made of stainless steel with laminated glass or white maritime net.

All exterior materials are maintenance-free and need only occasional washing. Materials, surfaces and colours can vary according to your choice.

Isolation and heating
AquaDomi™ floating houses are very well insulated and are equipped with floor heating to give extra wall space. AquaDomi™ meets the latest requirements for insulation (2006).

Possible heat sources: Electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, warm air pump and district heating. It is possible to install a wood burning stove in the living room.

Infrastructure
Water, waste water, electricity, telephone, community antenna and internet are connected to the public infrastructure in the same way as for a traditional house on land.

Pontoon
The pontoon is manufactured according to the technical regulations of the Maritime Authorities. It is approved by the Norwegian Veritas, Lloyd’s Register’s Special Service Craft and International Maritime Certification Institute.

The pontoon has a high durability with very easy maintenance. No additional installations are required to withstand the pressure from the ice during an ice winter.

Lightweight marble and granite
AquaDomi can now offer marble and granite in thicknesses of 2-5 mm on an aluminium support. This product makes it possible to design and use modern and untraditional sizes and patterns.

The aluminium support is developped for the space and aviation industries where strong lightweight materials are important. The material is very suitable due to the aluminium plate’s resistance to pressure, charge and temperature changes.
